Business processes and the associated IT systems are becoming increasingly complex. Consequently, the demand for specialized experts is growing. In the course of studies IT-Management, Consulting & Auditing you will deal with the basics of computer science and economics as well as with management and consulting aspects. You will learn how to use your business knowledge to develop and implement targeted IT solutions. The contents of your studies in computer science, business administration and IT management are equally weighted.
Your studies will qualify you to occupy a key position at the interface between business management processes and IT systems.
For example, you will align IT systems to the company’s requirements, design tailor-made software solutions or, as head of an IT department, be responsible for the control of the IT resources and the administration of the associated accounts.
You have a structured course of studies, which is determined by a block-by-block alternation between lectures at the university of applied sciences and practical work in the company. The lecture phase usually lasts fourteen to sixteen weeks. This is followed by a practical block of eight to ten weeks in the company.
During your studies, you will encounter job-specific learning fields such as programming, databases & algorithms and data structures, IT management/control, life cycles of IT systems, applied data science & machine learning or business processes with ERP systems.
On the one hand, you will learn how information systems are used comprehensively in companies, on the other how IT-supported business processes are viewed holistically and how external risk factors are taken into account. You will deepen your general basic knowledge in subjects such as business administration, economics, accounting and finance. Starting in the third semester, you will choose between IT (software design) and economics (financial accounting & auditing). In the 6th semester there will be a practical project phase.
