As a long-time employee, Nicolai Münzmay has already experienced quite a bit. Much of it directly with us. Read the exciting answers to our questions here.
What was your career like so far?
I completed my technical apprenticeship as a communications electronics technician at AVAYA. Over the time, I accompanied various large projects there and thus developed in the direction of sales. In 2011, I started working at IPD as the first PreSales employee. Over the years, I have taken on more and more tasks, including team leadership of the PreSales department from 2017 to 2020. Since its dissolution in 2020, I have been responsible for various special tasks.
How did you find your way to IP Dynamics?
An employee from the sales department of IPD approached me at AVAYA at that time. I found it interesting to start at a company that places more value on customer focus than on internal forecasting.
What is your area of responsibility?
I primarily support our account managers, but in recent years I have also taken on increasing responsibility for some customers myself. My tasks include consulting, gathering customer requirements and then, in consultation with the account managers, preparing proposals and presenting the solutions to the customers.
In addition, I am involved in some special tasks, such as the certification of our solutions at Microsoft or tasks from our product board. In phases, there are always smaller or larger tasks that are important for the company or especially for sales.
What has been your biggest challenge so far at IPD and how did you overcome it?
At the beginning, I had to create my working environment. At that time, there was no standard procedure at IPD for calculating quotations. So I first had to create the appropriate tools. Since I was given the freedom to choose the procedure, I have created a calculation tool over the years that has been refined again and again and is now used to calculate prices for offers very quickly and easily.
How do you like the corporate culture?
Sometimes things get a bit hectic. That’s why it’s good that everyone pulls together when it matters. You can rely not only on the management, but also on your colleagues. Specifications are not made down to the smallest detail. That leaves room for creative freedom. This also makes it possible to incorporate your own ideas and try them out.
What makes IP Dynamics unique as an employer for you?
The great flexibility and the varied tasks. For me, it would be very boring to do the same thing every day.
Thank you very much for this exciting insight!
